The apartment “Casa Vacanze Fatucchi” is located on the second floor of a historic building in the center of the village of Foiano della Chiana, in the province of Arezzo (Tuscany). The building dates back to the mid-sixteenth century. In 1716 it was owned by the noble Florentine family of Bartoli at the time “Podesta” (leader) of the Municipality. It overlooks the main square of the village, from where you can admire all the events that take place throughout the year. The apartment has just been renovated and some fragments of the old nineteenth century paintings have been preserved.
The apartment can accommodate up to 7 people in 125 square meters divided into:
1 Green Room (double) 1 Yellow Room (double with third bed)
1 Open space (two French sofa beds)
2 bathrooms 1 Kitchen
The history of the Foiano community is linked to the reclamation of the Val di Chiana, commissioned by the Grand Duke of Tuscany Pietro Leopoldo I di Lorena (1778) who transformed the unhealthy swamp into a very fertile territory, which over time was called the Granaio della Toscana (great barn of Tuscany), through a majestic engineering work entrusted to the Arezzo engineer Vittorio Fossombroni.
